FAMILY CAMPS

CAMP CHINGACHGOOK ON LAKE GEORGE. 1872 Pilot Knob Rd., Kattskill Bay, NY 12844. 518-656-9462. www.chingachgook.org. Year-round programs including summer resident camp, teen adventure trips and family camp weekends: Labor Day and Memorial Day weekends. Family rate for cabin lodging: Call for fees (includes an entire immediate family, regardless of the number of children). Price includes all meals and traditional camp activities for the whole family: hiking, archery, swimming, boating, astronomy and crafts.

KINGSWOOD - UNITED METHODIST FAMILY CAMPSITE. 1500 Hathaway Pond Rd., Hancock, NY 13783. 845-679-5692 (Jan-Jun) or 607-637-5401 (summer). www.kingswoodcampsite.org. Rates: $300/week; $175/weekend-three night stay-Thur-Sat or Fri-Sun; $50/night on weeknights. Equipped campsites include a platform tent, covered dining shelter, gas stove, cooler, cold running water, fireplace, and latrine. A centrally located bathhouse is also on the premises. Open mid-June through Labor Day, the campsite features a lake and deep woods. Activities include hayrides, campfires, crafts, fishing and nature walks, a potluck supper and Sunday morning worship service.

OHANA CAMP

PRESBYTERIAN CAMP & CONFERENCE CENTER.

On-site swimming (lake). Offers bible study, crafts, high and low ropes, nature study, hiking, camp outs, archery, etc. No transportation (one hour north of New York City). Three mother/daughter camp sessions. Girls share a bunk with their mother and other pairs. Rates: Call for fees. Price includes all meals, a horse to ride and other activities.
